First Prize. Brgy. Malainin.
Sporting simple basic butterfly design yet able to fly and stay longer than others in the sky, Brgy. Malainin's kite entry snatched the laurel to walk away with first prize award as they dominated the recently concluded PAPAGAYUJUAN 2011 Kite Demonstration Competition held at the northern side of Ibaan Public Market, April 15.

Blessed with clear blue sky and beaming sun light, the competition was able to attract eight (8) entries from different barangays. The entries were judged based on their structural design, craftsmanship, and two more criteria.

Second Price. Brgy. Salaban I
Brgy. Salaban I on the other hand capped second place, followed by Pangao/St. James Village on third, receiving P2,000.00 and P1,000.00 respectively. Brgy. Malainin took home P3,000.00.

Kites were crafted creatively reflecting Ibaeno's ingenuity with designs ranging from traditional to modern ones. Popular and eye-catching designs that amazed the audience include giant 'balde-balde", "eroplano" (airplane), and "tutubi" (dragonfly).

Third Price. St. James Village
To put more excitement and warm to the competition, some Mutya Ng Ibaan 2011 candidates graciously graced the said event. Each one of them assisted the trickster in tossing their kites on their flight.
