Ibaan Municipality Distributes Books to Private and Public Schools

For the love of wisdom and banking on the youth as the future of Ibaan, the local government of Ibaan, through the office of Mayor Danny Toreja, distributed books to public and private schools located and operating in the municipality.

Even before the start of the school year, the Office of the Mayor has been in constant contact with Senator Lito Lapid. Their discussions primarily involve the possibility of having books being donated to Ibaan schools. At first, public schools were established as the primary beneficiaries since, as compared to private schools, the latter are far more advance in terms of reference books as can be found in their libraries.

However, since the idea is centered on Ibaan youth, distinction as to whether an institution is private or public was dropped and was not considered at all. Thus, both private and public schools, elementary and high schools were all granted boxes of reference books based on their enrollees and population.

Reference books for school libraries and students.
In a ceremony dubbed as “Awarding Of Reference Books To All Private And Public Schools In Ibaan” last September, principals and schools’ representatives were present in attendance to receive their share of reference books. Held at Ibaan District Hall at Ibaan Central School, Mayor Danny Toreja emphasized the importance of having working libraries in different schools. And this can be made possible by the presence of updated reference books.

“There is nothing more importing than educating Ibaan youth. We all know how precious they are in our community. Let us all have the vision having a smart community by investing on our youth. And these books that we are donating are just the beginning”, says Mayor Toreja as he assured everyone of his continued support for every schools programs to uplift the quality of education in the municipality.

Mrs. Samson, Ibaan District Superintendent (Department of Education), in behalf of all teachers and schools in Ibaan, expressed her endless gratitude for the Municipality’s gesture to improve the education in the area. She also encouraged the principals and school representatives to respect, take care and make a good use of the newly donated books for the students’ knowledge depend heavily on them.

Councilor PJ Chua, Sangguniang Bayan Chairman of Committee on Education, concertized their group’s promise of standing firm for Ibaan education. He also asked everyone to make the books available and accessible to students. It is of importance, according him, that books be able to serve their purpose of feeding the minds of the students.

Municipal Administrator Rico Caringal erstwhile thanked Senator Lito Lapid who sent the books worth P5,000,000.00.

Ironically, although considered as the least educated one among other members of the Senate of the Philippines, he was the only one to answer for our students’ needs for reference books. Much of the credits must then be given as well to him.
