Ibaan 180th Founding Anniversary Schedule Of Activities

Foundation's official logo.
With the theme "Journey To Viable Transformation",  planning and identifying activities for the week-long celebration of Ibaan 180th Founding Anniversary has finally been completed. For almost two months, a series of meetings have been made.

"Journey To Viable Transformation" hopes to illuminate the journey that Ibaan has made from the time the town is being founded up to present. And from where we are now, viable or workable transformation through justified economic developments is being seen in the future. It is believed that only those developments that Ibaan can afford will be considered, thereby avoiding exaggerations on future plans.

This year, although an Executive Committee has been set up, all municipal department heads were given and assigned with particular activity to handle. This is to delegate and distribute the work, duties and responsibilities, and other incidental activities related to their assigned activities. One way or another, the present administration wish to foster greater cooperation among employees and staff of the municipality in making the celebration a success.

As much as Mayor Danny Toreja and his administration wish to provide a highly extravagant celebration, just like any other municipalities, budget constraints always stand in the way. This year, in collaboration with the Sangguniang Bayan and Municipal Accounting Office, a budget of P1 million is being allotted. The amount is expected to cover all of the expenses, including the prizes to be given to winners, of different events. Mutya ng Ibaan 2012 received the lion share of the budget -spread among their gowns, stage, lights and sounds, tokens and plaques of appreciation and prizes.

On the other hand, Ms. Ethel Joy Caiga now handles and serves as Chairman for Mutya ng Ibaan 2012.

Also, in contrast to what we have been promoting before, motocross invitational cup that is supposedly to be held in Brgy. Munting Tubig was scrapped due to time constraint and its huge budgetary requirement. Some changes, meanwhile, is being adapted for Liempuhan. It is now dubbed as Liempuhan at Acoustik. Its concept still involves grilling of liempo, only it shall be done at People's Park instead of the original street grill. Local acoustic bands and individual performers will be add spice to the event.

Ibaan's foundation, February 11, is being celebrated every five years. It should not matter how big or simple the celebration is. What is important is that, we, as Ibaeno, are still able to look back and remember the day that created Ibaan, and the day that made us an Ibaeno.

And as tribute to Ibaan's famous "Kulambo" Ibaan street dancers, composed mainly of DJAPMNHS, who participated in Ala Eh Festival last year, will perform their piece during the last day of the celebration. They will be on the lead on a grand parade that will include different sectors in the community.

Here are the schedule of activities that are expected to transpire from February 4 to February 11, 2012.
