Coliat Callejon Boys To Help Indigent Batang Ibaan

Batang Burol to be adopted by Coliat Callejon Boys.
Taga Ibaan Ako has been instrumental in showing across the globe what it's like in here in Ibaan. There are things that have gone through a lot of changes while others remain in their state for a long time. And one of those things that hasn't change that much is the state of indigent Batang Ibaan.

Somehow, we've touched the hearts of fellow Ibaenos currently living or working abroad. Returning home, some of them look for some of those things that's been featured and try to find ways on how they can share their blessings. To mention a few, we're lucky to meet professionals like Jerome Gualberto Sunto, an Associate Engineer at Singapore Telecom and Anthony Aguila of Analog Devices, also in Singapore, they've expressed their intention to help the indigent Batang Ibaan having seen the videos and photos of Tulong Edukasyon Para Sa Batang Ibaan.

Out of which, Coliat Callejon Boys, with which both Jerome and Anthony belong to, a new group will be formed to call on more Ibaeno professionals in different part of the world to spread their wings to reach Batang Ibaan.

In one lucky day, we received an invitation to be a Coliat Callejon. That's where we get to meet both Jerome and Anthony. Over glass of brandy with lucid memory, Jerome admitted being fortunate with the blessings he has received in his life having a supportive family and being able to work abroad.

However, despite it all, seeing the plight of Batang Ibaan made him feel guilty for his failure to at least share the burdens carried by those children. Jerome does not earn that much for him to be called a "rich" one, but, according to him, he can spare some amount of his earnings and be a good Samaritan. With such, he believes any amount will always be something to buy school supplies for Batang Ibaan.

Anthony on the other hand, another professional from Singapore, also expressed his willful intention to cut part of his none sense expenses and have them part of pool of funds, still for Batang Ibaan.

According to Anthony, he can actually sacrifice part of what he has to help the indigents. And since he was able to finish school without worrying about school supplies, it's about time that he look back at his school days and be on the shoes of indigents. His feet may not fit into indigent kid's shoes, but he believes he can provide a pair of shoes for them.

More importantly, currently on a vacation in Coliat, they intend to rally more of professional Ibaenos to do the same once they return back to Singapore. Both of them believe they all nurse a soft spot in their hearts for Batang Ibaan. A group is planned to be formed with the help of other Coliat Callejon Boys. This might be a big leap since it will never be easy to make others understand the importance of what they intend to do. But for the love of Batang Ibaan and of Ibaan's future, they are willing to bank on Batang Ibaan's future, at least through school supplies.

School supplies can change Batang Ibaan's future.
And by the last glass of brandy, we savored on the idea that the group will adopt "Burol", a far-flung community in Brgy. Coliat with numbers of indigent kids in immediate need of educational assistance. The community is close to Callejon Boys since, during their childhood years, that is where they go to swim at the river before the community itself.

As part of TEBI, we look forward then to working with them to help Batang Ibaan. And may this story serve as an inspiration to other professionals to become more passionate of the indigents' educational needs.
