Muscles To Thank For

The Muscles who move mountains from start to finish of Ibaan events.
I have witnessed Ibaan events come into play since February until the most recent one last October 29, 2011. The event featured Mutya ng Ibaan 2012 Candidates doing the cat walk on ramp as they showcase three clothes creations by designer Jojo Driz. Dubbed as Mutya ng Ibaan Fashion Show and Talent Presentation, it highlighted the wearing of dress with, not just a touch but, kulambo as the primary material.

The night full of spectacular numbers both from Mutya ng Ibaan candidates, the band and performers from different schools. On that night, all eyes were on them. Chants and screams were all directed to them. As I take my own refuge at the sideline while taking photos, looking at the farthest side of the gym, there are people that I almost forgot to capture on my cam's lens: the muscles, first and foremost, that erected the stage and other physical arrangements that night.

Just a few number of them, and people may not be taking notice, but I would like to give my gratitude and respec to these men who work in shadow behind the glam and fam of flashing lights and screaming Ibaenos. Meet the UTILITY MEN.

They move the heaviest part of the job. They wake up the earliest time possible to beat the deadline. Worst, they come home late and the last after the event. While we lavish the night's glitz and glamour, they sweat heavily clearing things up for the next day's work. They hardly get the spotlight. But this time, I raise my hand to salute these muscles.

Not to be taken for granted are the THINK TANKS who have been restlessly breaking into half their skull just to come up with the best idea and concept for these kinds of events. I will have to pause on this part, but they'll take this Blogger's center stage on our next post.

Respect should go to those who work as hard as a horse, but not to those who only speak of shallow words, spill no sweat on real deal works in progress, and only make a scene when the event is bound to be a big hit.
