Talaibon Elementary School Receives New Computer Units

Teachers and students of Talaibon Elementary School now have good reason to rejoice this school year as the school received eight (8) brand new computer units complete with accessories and other interface gadgets, May 24.

Through the efforts and coordination of Mayor Danny Toreja with Alagad Partylist, TES just got lucky even before the school opens its doors to students this June. Represented by Cong. Rodante Marcoleta in the House of Representatives, the computer units were donated by Alagad Partylist with the intention of extending a helping hand to Ibaan elementary students through computer education.

In his speech, Mr. Miguel Malvar, Alagad Partylist President and a grandson of Gen. Malvar, expressed his group’s willingness to provide assistance to Ibaan to the extent of their capability and resources. He also recounted the reasons why he himself has a soft spot in his heart for Ibaan. Looking back, Mr. Malvar turned out to work for Mr. Ben Medrano before as his first political boss and exposure. He also worked with then Cong. Nani Perez during his term.

Meanwhile, TES Principal I Mrs. Constancia A. Perez also expressed how elated she is, together with co-teachers with the arrival of computers. In one conversation, she related a story of their former student who now studies at one of the high schools in Ibaan. According to Mrs. Perez, the said student went back to her and told her that, being a graduate of TES, they’re the only one in the class with no computer background, making it more difficult for them to cope with others. Such, as a teacher, broke Mrs. Perez’s heart. The said story was her motivation to ask for computers from the Municipality of Ibaan.

It so happened then that Mayor Danny Toreja is actually coordinating with Alagad Partylist through Mr. Miguel Malvar. And the rest was a new and brighter future for TES
.
Moreover, as mentioned by Mrs. Perez her speech with residents of Talaibon in attendance, the computers will also be made available and accessible to everyone in the barangay, including high school and college students.

Talaibon Brgy. Chairman Marsevic A. Perez on the other hand also received one (1) computer unit for his office.
