Mutya Ng Bago: Jaylee P. Blay

Brgy. Bago's Pride: Ms. Jaylee P. Blay.
Profile

Full Name: Jaylee P. Blay
Age: 17
Height: 5'5
Vital Statistics: 33-26-37
Education/Course/Year:  1st Year BS Computer Engineering
School: DE LA SALLE LIPA
Parents/Guardian: LILIBETH BLAY

The Interview

TIA: What keeps you awake late at night?
Jaylee:  Assignments. Exams the following day. They’re the culprit. They’ve been keeping me awake late at night. As much as I want to sleep early, I just can’t do that. Things need to be finished first before retiring to bed. I am only on my first year in college. I guess I need to get used to it in the next three more years! https://s-static.ak.facebook.com/images/blank.gif

TIA: Assuming you have a boyfriend, are you going to let him kiss you in a movie house? Why?
Jaylee: Nope! That’s going to be a big NO! Movie theaters will never be a right place for that. And if ever my boyfriend wants to kiss me, I’ll just let him have my cheek. No more. No less. Anyway, I choose naman a boyfriend na talagang mapapagkatiwalaan.
 https://s-static.ak.facebook.com/images/blank.gif
Jaylee is bent on having a great career in the future,
TIA: What is it that you can’t talk about with your parents?
Jaylee: I can’t think of things that I can’t talk about with my parents. Maybe because I’ve grown a little older now. I can entrust with them all of my secrets. Unlike in high school days, I do keep secrets like crushes and others. And I have to thank my mother for being there whenever I need her. She’s very supportive. She’s my buddy. And that’s one factor that makes me comfortable talking with them.

TIA: What’s the most embarrassing moment in your life?
Jaylee: This is crazy. I will never forget this. We were having our midterm exam in math in La Salle. I was really nervous answering the questions. I don’t know why. I need some air. So I excused myself for a while and went to comfort room to calm myself. That helped me a lot. I went back to the room and went on to finish the exam. After submitting my papers, I again went to comfort room. I wish to stay a little longer. But I still have one more class to attend to. In my confusion, I went inside a wrong room! I’m supposed to be at JRF205. Instead, I found myself at room JRF206! Whew! That’s really embarrassing.

"Winning is not just about popularity." - Jaylee
TIA: What makes a responsible netizen?
Jaylee: I agree with GMA7’s advocate “think before you click”. Being part of internet social networking sites, like Facebook, is fun. But everything that we post there must be reasonable and rational enough so as not to offend other people. Remember, we may delete what we’ve posted, it’s still there and it’s permanent.  https://s-static.ak.facebook.com/images/blank.gif

TIA: What should a man do to win your heart?
Jaylee:  I just want him to accept who I am. My personality, and everything about me. He must know how to give value even on simplest things. If he does that, he got me.

TIA: What turns you off during a date?
Jaylee:
I really hate to be the one waiting for someone in a date. He’s the man, so he should be there first. After a couple of minutes of waiting, that turns me off already. And I get to carry it the whole day.

TIA: With what you are now, is there anything that you would like to say to your elementary teachers?
Jaylee:  I really want to thank them. A big part of what I am now is all because of them. I owe them a lot. And if given the chance to see or talk with them again, I won’t hesitate thanking them.

TIA: Do you think Ibaan calendar is worth it? Why?
Jaylee:  Yes. And I’ll say yes again to that. This is the first time Ibaan issued such material. We should be proud it. It’s a good marketing tool to promote what we have in Ibaan. And I’m proud to be part of it.

"I do believe that we are all competitive."
TIA: How are you going to promote your barangay and the Municipality of Ibaan?
Jaylee: Well I can use the internet. I’m also fond of taking pictures. Once I’m able to have a camera, I’ll take photos of different things and different places in Ibaan. Then I’ll just post them on the internet. The world will be able to see Ibaan that way. Another thing is, my barangay chose me to represent them at Mutya ng Ibaan 2012. So I think I can stand for my barangay and represent what we have in barangay.

TIA: What do you think of Chief Justice Renato Corona?
Jaylee:  I think Chief Justice Corona really failed to declare his wealth. As public official, he should have declared everything. Kung nagawa nya yun, hindi na siguro magkakaroon ng impeachment trial. CJ Corona must now prove his innocence.

TIA: What’s the difference between winning and losing?
Jaylee:  Winning is not just about popularity. Being given the opportunity to join this contest already make one a winner. Once the competition started, it’s up to you now if you’ll take the challenge. And turning your back or walking away from it makes a person a loser already. Anyway, losing is part of the competition. It’s only a matter of accepting one’s defeat.

TIA: Do you wish to win Mutya ng Ibaan 2012? Why?
Jaylee: Yap, I really hope to win this. But of course everyone has their hope as well. All girls deserve to win. Like I’ve said, I consider myself a winner already being a candidate. I even got more consolation prizes since I’m able to make friends with other candidates. This competition has brought out more of the woman in us. And I’m enjoying it.

TIA: Is there anything that you wish to change in Ibaan?
Jaylee:  Not necessarily changes, but more additions to what we have here now. And sana, magkaroon ng Jollibee dito sa Ibaan. It’s everyone’s favorite! Haha!

TIA: Among the candidates, who do you think is the most competitive? Why?
Jaylee:  Well, to be fair, I think I’ll decline from mentioning a name. Right now, I do believe that we are all competitive enough to be in this competition and to win the title.

Height: 5'4
Vital Statistics: 34-27-30
Education/Course/Year: 3rd year BS Information Technology
School” Batangas State University
Parents/Guardian: Maria C. Roallos

The Interview

TIA: What did your parents told you the first time they heard the news that you’re joining Mutya ng Ibaan 2012?
Rose Ann:  Honestly, at first, they told not to join. Everyone knows naman na joining such competition, no matter how prestigious it may be, it entails a lot of monetary expenditures. We’re not that rich. We don’t have much to support other incidental spending. It’s a costly competition. I was such a persistent one. I did try convincing them to allow. Fortunately, I was able to get a nod from them. And they are on an all-out-support now.

TIA: What’s your fondest memory during your high school days?
Rose Ann: I do have strong inclination in playing Volleyball during my high school days. I love the game. And every time I play, I get a boost as well on my confidence. It helps me become a stronger person, and ready to take on any challenge. Volleyball did make my high school days a memorable one.

TIA: Is there any song that best describes who and what you are now?
Rose Ann: I think the song that best describes me is Born This Way By Lady Gaga.

Rose wants to try surfing, an adventurous one.
TIA: What extreme sport you wish to try? Why?
Rose Ann: Surfing, Because I think it’s an adventurous thing to do. It requires a lot of balancing skills. Those huge wave represent everyone’s problems, If I may say. But a surfer knows how to overcome them. And even take a ride. And I really love to try that one.

TIA: Assessing yourself, what do you think is your best asset to win Mutya ng Ibaan 2012?
Rose Ann: The best asset that I posses is my ability of socializing with others. Everyday, we meet different people with different character. And we have to deal with them in different ways as well. I’m actually fun and easy to be with. You can it a try. Ha! Ha!. But physically, I would say, it’s my cheek bone.

TIA: Why do you think some men become unfaithful to their partners?
Rose Ann:  Let me tell you this straight. It’s all about lack of communication and failure to totally commit one’s self into a relationship.

TIA: Who’s your role model? Why?
Rose Ann:  She’s no other than my mother. Because she always find ways to solve our family problems that we encounter. She doesn’t easily give up. She makes sure that everything and everyone in the family are on the right track.

TIA: What are the things that make you feel good being a woman?
Rose Ann: Having a lot of friends, being active in school and even in our community, good commitment to God and family and appreciated by others makes me feel good that I am a woman.

Communication is important in a relationship - Rose
TIA: What will you choose for dinner, hawot/sapsap/dilis or fried chicken? Why?
Rose Ann: Fried Chicken, it makes my mouth watery.

TIA: What do you think of the women posing for men’s magazine like FHM?
Rose Ann: For me, they are proud to have sexy figure and beautiful faces.

TIA: What will be your reasons for you not to join Pinoy Big Brother?
Rose Ann: I would prioritize my studies rather than joining PBB.

TIA: How are you going to promote your barangay and the Municipality of Ibaan?
Rose Ann: By joining programs, and any other events in different places.

TIA: What makes PNoy a bad President?
Rose Ann: Lack of publicity, I guess. Other than that, I really don’t have any bad comments about PNoy.

TIA: Is there anything that you want to change in Ibaan?
Rose Ann: I want to improve the facilities and programs that our municipality do access.

TIA: Among the candidates, who do you think is the most competitive? Why?
Rose Ann: No other than I myself, because i know that my friends and family believes that I have the gut of being Miss Ibaan.

Mutya Ng Ibaan 2012 Candidate Jem Gladys Gatdula - Donceras of Brgy. Mabalor

Brgy. Mabalor's Pride: Ms. Jem Gladys Gatdula - Donceras.
Profile

Full Name: Jem Gladys Gatdula- Donceras
Age: 20 yrs. old
Height: 5'8"
Vital Statistics: 29-24-31
Education/Course/Year: Senior student , taking up Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management
School: Centro Escolar University (Mendiola, Manila)
Work: Trainee Receptionist at the Manila Hotel
Parents/Guardian: Anastacia Donceras/ Janel Donceras/ Jerich hope Donceras

The youngest among Mr. and Mrs. Neri Donceras’ three children, Jem is well raised by her Lola Salome in Brgy. Mabalor. Lola Salome took her under her wings when her father died when she was two. Two years after, her mom left to work abroad. Jem is not that sporty type, but loves doing outdoor activities, much more when accompanied by her barkada and schoolmates. She’s into singing. But take this, she admits being a frustrated band vocalist in her school in Bilogo, Taysan back in high school days. She is a God-fearing person and hard-working student. Being part of Mutya Ng Ibaan 2012 is definitely a great honor for her.

The towering sweet innocence of Jem.
"This is going to be a tough fight, I think", says Jem.

The Interview
TIA: What would you do if Phil Younghusband knocks at your room’s door?
Jem: If Phil Young Husband knocks at my room’s door, the first thing I’m going to do is stare at him, give him a big smile and ask him why he’s knocking. And if given a chance I will hug and ask if it’s okay to take some pictures and autograph w/ him.

TIA: What’s the worst pick-up line you’ve ever heard from a guy? When and where was that?
Jem: The worst pick up-line I ever heard from a guy is that “I will never try to cheat on you, and I will promise to love you forever, I swear to God”, but still he do cheated me.

TIA: Has anyone broken your heart before? What happened?
Jem: Yes. How did it go? Ahmnnn, please let me keep that part. Hehe.

TIA: What do you think of him now? What will you tell him if given the chance?
Jem: Now, we’re friends. If given a chance to talk him right now I let him know that I’m very happy on what he has achieved as of today.

One of TIA's first photos of Jem.
TIA: What can you do to make a guy hate you?
Jem: Turn them out by flirting with other guy. But honestly, I never do that in the real life, especially when I’m committed with someone.

TIA: What’s the first thing you’ll do after the pageant?
Jem: The first thing I’m going to do after the pageant is to thank all the people who never fail to help me during the competition. And it’s going to be a normal life again being a simple Ibaena and focus in pursuing my dreams as a successful individual.

TIA: Do you cook? If you do, what do you usually cook? Will your future husband be proud of your kitchen prowess?
Jem: I usually cook adobo, fried foods and the all time favorite “spaghetti”. I think my future husband will be satisfied in my kitchen prowess because as a husband he doesn’t even have a choice but to eat the food that I’m going to cook. (HAHAHAHAH) But honestly, I want my future husband be a better cook that I am. Nakakadadagdag pogi points kase pag masarap magluto yung guy. Para saken ah, siguro mas maiinlove lalo ako sa kanya.

TIA: What part of your house gives you the serenity you’re looking for?
Jem: Inside my room.

TIA: Where do you think you’ll have a better life/work, in the Philippines or abroad? Why?
Jem: I think abroad, because it is very obvious that here in the Philippines we are suffering economic crisis and the salary that I’m going to earn from my work here will never be enough in my daily needs. But still before going abroad, I still need to have a good working experience here, para at least I’ll be more knowledgeable whenever I work abroad.

Not a sporty type. But sure thing Jem looks good on a monster bike.
TIA: How would you feel assuming you failed to win Mutya ng Ibaan 2012?
Jem: Life must go on. If it’s not for me, it’s not for me. My life wouldn’t stop by failing, but still it’s going to be a great experience and a moment to be treasured being a part of Mutya ng Ibaan.

TIA: What’s the most sarcastic/offensive comment you’ve heard about you since you joined Mutya ng Ibaan 2012?
Jem: It’s all about Ibaan calendar. I heard that news/ issue from my loyal friends. According to them, someone (I will not mention the name) stated this: “ Grabeh makabukaka si JEM GLADYS e, kung ako e may anak na bata hinding hindi ako bibili ng kalendaryong iyan”. Grabeh lang!

TIA: What is your stand on Reproductive Health Bill?
Jem: The core of Reproductive Health Bill is birth control. For my part, I think it should be implemented. Admit it or not, with the increasing population at an unprecedented rate, that is going to be a problem. Two minutes before New Year's eve last December 31, Philippines contributed the world's 7 billionth baby. Manila's Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital witnessed her coming and she's named Danica May Camacho. Everyone was glad to have her. However, we should consider the fact the world is really getting crowded, that includes Philippines. The question now is whether we still have enough to food, fresh air, shelter, education and others to support the exploding population. Our resources is depleting. We don't have the means to maximize them. And that makes the future more uncertain for the next generation. So I guess, I really am for Reproductive Health Bill.

The girl every men wish to meet in crossroads
TIA: How are you going to promote your barangay and the Municipality of Ibaan?
Jem: I’m going to promote my Brgy. Mabalor and my beloved town IBAAN, by helping in preserving the existing attractions of Ibaan, and of course, in my Brgy. Mabalor. Or better yet, create new ones.

TIA: Is there anything that you want to change in Ibaan?
Jem: For me Ibaan is a fast growing municipality, as you can see every year we see its progress like Ibaan exit, as I can see especially in our brgy. (MABALOR) w/c is part of ibaan there are people w/c invest in the cultural products w/c is the “TUBUHAN” and poultry, so for ibaan itself, if I would change something in ibaan it’s the way people look at it, what I mean was how about IBAAN CITY??!! From municipality of Ibaan to IBAAN CITY.. ( SOUNDS GREAT!!!) Haha!

TIA: Among the candidates, who do you think is the most competitive? Why?
Jem: For me, I think the most competitive of all the candidate is JAYLEE BLAY of Brgy. Bago. I don’t know why, but I can see and feel it. She will be one of my contenders.

Mutya Ng Ibaan 2012 Candidate Mary Jessica G. Guadez of Brgy. Salaban 1

Salaban 1's pride, Ms. Mary Jessica G. Guadez.
Profile:
Full Name: Mary Jessica G. Guadez
Age: 18
Height: 5”5
Vital Statistics:
36.5’ 27.5’ 39
Education/Course: Bachelor of Science in Tourism
School: La Consolacion College Manila
Parents/Guardian: Mr. and Mrs. Fortunato P. Guadez

The Interview

TIA: Assuming some guy is courting you, what do you want him to do to prove his worth?
Jessica: Actually, I really don’t want to tell the guy what he should do to prove his worth. I want him to prove himself in his own unique way. Every guy has his own personality; he has his own way of courting. I just admire those guys who show me who he really is, those guys who would not be ashamed of what he has or what he is. I just wanted him to be confident enough to show me his real identity and character.

Jessa..taking it one step at a time.
TIA: What are the usual everyday contents of your bag?
Jessica: I always bring a make-up kit, a small bottle of perfume,  ball pen, small notebook, my cellphones, and umbrella. I usually bring these things even if I don’t usually use it. I am fond of having big bags that contain things that I usually don’t use. I just bring them for emergency purposes. Even though I am a Tourism student and we are expected to always put our make up on, I don’t still hardly wear make-up. I’m just a typical student who just put powder on my face, or nothing at all.

TIA: Do you do your laundry? In the future, are you going to make your husband do the laundry
Jessica: Yes, I do my laundry since I am studying in Manila. I only depend on myself. In Manila, I am the only one who can do the chores for me. I don’t pay for laundry services since, most of the time, it takes 3 days before I could get my clothes back. So I'd rather do the laundry myself.

Well, I can let my husband do the laundry. Household chores should be a shared responsibility among partners. If ever I will get a job that is in line with my course and I will be a flight attendant, definitely my husband cannot depend on me. I'm sure he'll understand.

TIA:  What are the ingredients of a long lasting relationship
Jessica: Trust, Understanding, Love and most especially friendship. I believe that friendship is the most important ingredient of a long lasting relationship for whenever love is not present, friendship will be the substitute for your relationship to work, it will be the foundation for the relationship that you are having. Trust and understanding are also one of the important ingredients for a lasting relationship for it will be the walls that will bind the couples together. And lastly, Love. It will be the roof of everything. It will complete the recipes that will make your relationship last.

TIA: If given the chance, will you join Survivor Philippines? Why
Jessica: Yes. I will. I want to show the adventurous side of me. I want to experience new things that I know will make me a better person. I want to prove to myself that I can do things on my own; it will be a great experience that can boost my personality. I can make my self as strong as I can be.

Not even the wind can stop her from rolling.
TIA: Where do you think is the most romantic place in Ibaan to have a date? Why
Jessica: I think every place will be romantic if your with the person you wanted to be. Even if you only eat together in a Lomi house or go to church, or just sit around the plaza as long, as your with the person you want to be with. Place really doesn’t matter. What matters the most is the person you are with.

TIA:  Have you ever been drunk? When and where
Jessica: Never. I don’t want to compromise myself and do things that I would regret. There are many things that can happen accidentally. We’ll never know. Alcohol can influence you to do things that could change your life forever

TIA:  What are the signs that make a guy gay?
Jessica: A guy becomes a gay whenever I see him having his make-up! And also when he always give comments about my fashion statement and make-up. I find a guy gay whenever he is more talkative than I do.  I find it more masculine if a guy is a silent type of person.

TIA:  What can you sacrifice for your family
Jessica: I can sacrifice anything for my family for my family is my only treasure

At ease aboard a 1000cc motorbike.
TIA:  The next Mutya ng Ibaan competition will be on 2017. What will be your advice to those aspiring to join Mutya ng Ibaan
Jessica: Just be yourself, don’t be afraid to show who you really are. It is better to show your real personality and character even if many people get angry at you, rather than hide in a mask and people adores you. It is better to be real than be plastic. It is better to be known as you are than be known as another person.

TIA:  What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a Facebook account
Jessica: It is good that we have a facebook account that we can connect to the persons we love that live in a very far place. It will be your connection that you can upload photos for them to see and will lessen their stress and homesickness. It will also help our relatives and friends to be updated on all the things that we are doing but we should also be aware that many crimes happens because of facebook. You will meet lots of people that you never could tell if they are really those persons, some are just pretending to be them. We can also be fooled by those posers in facebook that pretend to be your friend that make stories just to give or spread invented news that will eventually destroy you.

She'll soon soar high as flight attendant.

TIA: How are you going to promote your barangay and the Municipality of Ibaan
Jessica: By showing them how hospitable the persons/people in my barangay and in Ibaan. I can promote the industry that we have in our barangay, like the rice fields that we have. We have a lot of agricultural products. Our barangay is also a good place for investment for it is near the Star Tollway

TIA:  Are you in favor of divorce? Why
Jessica: No. I am really not in favor of divorce because those who are bonded as one by God can never be separated by people. I also believe that whenever a person got married, they chose this person because they want to be with this person for the rest of their life. Marriage is not a game, it is a forever commitment that when you choose to settle down, you should settle down with the person that you really love and also love you the way you deserve to

TIA:  Is there anything that you want to change in Ibaan?
Jessica: No. I don’t want to change anything in Ibaan. I just want to enhance its resources. I believe that we should never change what God had given us, what we should do is add attractions and never lessen them.

TIA: Among the candidates, who do you think is the most competitive? Why?
Jessica: Ms. Raychelle Ann Timan, because I know that she is the most experienced among all candidates. She has won a lot of titles already. She has built her self confidence in the past to face the crowd. She also has a really pretty face, posture, and the grace that beauty queen should have.

TIA: What can you say about Mayor Danny Toreja?
Jessica: Mayor Danny is such a kind person. He always makes sure that we're in good hands with the government employees assigned to us. And during rehearsals, he makes it a point for us to have something to eat or refresh with. He's very approachable, actually. A soft-spoken and a generous man. He provides us what we need, even those things that we don't necessarily need, to make us feel comfortable. To our dearest Mayor, thank you so much for always being there for us and for giving this once in a lifetime opportunity to become part of this competition. In behalf of all Mutya ng Ibaan 2012 candidates, we thank you sir. We will never forget this.
